Excessive moisture builds up humidity causing a lot of damage to the surroundings. The desiccant dehumidifiers are more economical at lower temperatures and lower moisture levels. They are utilized for applications which are below 45% relative humidity up till 1% relative humidity.
The main benefit of a desiccant dehumidifier is that they perform exceptionally well when used in cooler climates, or when a low dew point is required.
Desiccant dehumidifiers are suitable to facilities where humidity control is required. They use moisture-absorbing materials like silica gel, and are used when a very low relative humidity is needed, work is being carried out at extremely low temperatures or low dew point is essential or when the unit has to be ducted into the area that needs drying.
The use of desiccant dehumidifiers reduce the growth of disease causing microbes, control odors, mold and mildew and also eliminate condensation. They prevent damage to furnishings, carpeting, tiles and other building materials. Not to mention these reduce operating costs and save energy.
